Sexy 3Pc Army Cadet Military Halloween Costume by Leg avenue

One of my favorite fall decorations is a scarecrow for my front porch. Now I know you can pick up really cute, inexpensive scarecrows at your craft shops. But nothing is more satisfying than using your creativity making a personal expression of your family, for almost no money, than making your own scarecrow! And it's not only easy, its a fun thing to do with the kids as well.

What you will need:

One shirt
One pair of pants
Hat
Old white/ cream/ dark pillowcase for face, or scrap fabric
Plastic shopping bags or old newspapers
Safety Pins
String or narrow rope
Small amounts of straw, raffia, or dried grass
Permanent markers or felt scraps for facial features

Button, zip or close the shirt and pants where necessary, tie ends of shirt arms and pant legs closed with string or rope.

Stuff full with bags or newspaper.

Use safety pins to attach shirt to pants at waist.

Stuff pillowcase into size and shape of a face. Use a permanent marker for facial features or glue cut out pieces of felt for the eyes and mouth. Tuck into the neck opening of shirt, and secure with safety pins. Pin on hat.

Stuff a little straw or raffia into the neck opening edges, and the arm and leg openings. Glue in place if necessary.

Now that you have the basic scarecrow in place, consider the ways you can make it personal! For years my kids each made one of themselves, and we had a whole family of scarecrows (our family!) lining the fence. You can vary the type of clothes from an old fashioned farmer, to a clown, to a princess complete with tutu...what ever works for your family. Insert flexible wire into the arms and legs before you pin the body together for a pose able scarecrow. Make little kid scarecrows, or a scarecrow to remind you of a dear friend or family member.

Showcase your scarecrows on the front porch, sitting in a chair you can see from the back window, standing watch over your entryway, or perched in a windowbox, dangling his legs from the second story. Tip: Wire or tie your scarecrow down if you live in an area where it can be windy.

Pink Leopard Child Costume

The Purrty Kitty costume includes: crushed velvet dress with pink fur trim and attached crinonine and tale, pink fur leg warmers, ears, and black collar with bell.

Halloween can be a festive and fun time of year for children and families; but for pets, it can be stressful and even dangerous. Here are some tips to keep your pets happy and safe this Halloween. Some readers may be surprised to learn that one of the most dangerous things for your pet this Halloween is candy, especially chocolate, which can be harmful, even fatal to pets. Chocolate can cause tremors nervousness, vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate and, in severe cases, seizure and death. As much as your dog or cat may beg for some of your Halloween candies, always remember that chocolate is deadly to them in any amount. Secure all candy safely away from pets. The wrappers, such as tin foil, can get stuck in your pets' digestive tract and make them ill or cause death. There are plenty of recipes for making home made dog and cat treats and you can always make them on a Halloween note. If you are like me and have no idea how to make pet treats of any kind, you might be able pick up a box of dog or cat treats for them at a pet bakery or order them online before hand.

If you will be having inside visitors for the evening, remind your guests not to give your pet any candy no matter how cute they think he or she is. Tell them of the health risks involved with candy and pets. It will be way easier to tell everyone upfront, than to have to tell each person as they try to share a treat with your pet. If you are having an indoor party, seriously consider putting your dog or cat in a room where they won't be disturbed. Secluding your pets in a quiet room away from the Halloween activities will ease your mind and allow you to enjoy your guests. This will also ensure that your pets won't panic and escape when bell-ringing trick-or-treaters arrive, nor will they become threatened or aggressive at the sight of costumed, little people. With many people visiting the home in strange attire, even normally calm pets might over react. These things can cause undue stress and possibly cause aggression in even the nicest dog, goldfish, or iguana for that matter. Pets, especially dogs, that are easily excitable or threatened by strangers should be kept from the front door so they cannot bite anyone or run into the street.

During Halloween, pets are often the victims of pranksters' cruel tricks. If you work in a pet store, remember that this is the time of year that can be deadly for black cats. Many animal shelters make black cats unavailable for adoption the week before Halloween because of black cat abuse. These poor animals have in the past, been targets of cruel activities on Halloween. It is probably best to keep black cats inside for the whole week of Halloween. On this Halloween night, try to keep all pets safely indoors at all times. With a frequently opened door, keep pets secure so they don't end up leaving with a band of trick-or-treaters. Keep pets on a shorter-than-normal leash if you plan on walking outside on Halloween.

Always watch that any open flames (like candles or jack-o-lanterns) are out of reach (of pets and kids). Not only could your pet start a fire but they could severely burn themselves in the process. Finally, dressing up a pet dog or cat has become increasingly popular in the last few years, which in turn means a big market for dog & cat-related products. It is best to avoid the temptation to dress up your dog and send him or her out trick-or-treating with the kids. If you are going to dress your pet in a costume, keep in mind that unless the dog or cat is extremely receptive to this kind of thing, you could be causing it discomfort and stress. I personally see nothing wrong with dressing your pet if they are in agreement with it, but on a busy holiday like Halloween they should also be wearing their collar with an Identification tag, just in case.

Halloween remains to be one of the best occasions of the year for kids and kids-at-heart. When else can you go out in your silliest costume and be rewarded for it by getting sweet treats? In many places, October 31 has also become the preferred date to throw a big Halloween costume party, where you can mingle with friends and laugh and marvel at each others creativity.

According to Wikipedia, the first celebration of Halloween occurred during the ancient times. This date is believed to mark the end of harvest season and the beginning of another year (according to Celtic tradition). The festival coincides with meticulous examination of the crops stored for the long winter months ahead. During those days, damaged crops or poor yield was attributed to the malevolent activity of dead souls. Thus, the ancient people built bonfires to scare these souls away. They would also disguise themselves as ghosts and creatures of the night to "fool" or please the bad spirits.

With the advent of rational thought, it seems hard to believe that the dead truly walks among the living for one night only. These days, Halloween may coincide with the commemoration of departed souls (for some religions) or just a great occasion to have fun.

It is never bad to get into the spirit of Halloween yourself by putting up some decorations around your home or preparing Halloween-themed food. And what better dessert can you serve your guests other than beautifully-created and delicious cupcakes? The whole cupcake is your canvas, so get your tools and keep these tips in mind to create your own Halloween Cupcake!

Tips:

  • Remember that the whole cupcake is your canvas. You can cut the cupcake into round-ish shapes and use the power of food coloring and piping to create a little jack-o-lantern cupcake.
  • By using other edible props, you can create a cupcake that looks like a daddy longlegs spider. Purchase a couple of thin licorice sticks and candies that look like eyes (or M&M's can be fine). Put the candies on the surface of the cupcake and stick 4 licorice sticks to each side. Bend the sticks a bit so that it will imitate bent spider legs.
  • You can also make pumpkin-flavored cupcakes to celebrate the occasion. Just add some cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and mashed pumpkin to your basic cupcake mixture. Adjust the measurements of these new ingredients according to taste.

Halloween is just around the corner! Make this Halloween especially memorable by making themed cupcakes. Discover how easy it is to Make Your Own Cupcakes for Halloween with simple tips and great advice.

Sexy Import Beer Girl Halloween Costume

Sexy Import Beer Girl Adult costumes for a Sexy look that will be a huge hit this Halloween!! A Sexy Beer Girl Costume is guaranteed to make this Halloween one to remember!!

Which Halloween costumes are best is a matter of personal taste, certainly. But year after year, the ones below continue to be hugely popular.

Superheroes and Villains

Whether it's the Joker thanks to a recent Batman movie or the latest TV show, superheroes and the villains they conquer are always near the top of any list.

It's not just the associations with popular characters that does the trick, though. Just think of all the cool makeup possibilities with someone like the Joker. He's gone through several variations from TV and films from the past 50 years. Superhero masks offer an outstanding way to avoid that trouble, though. Pop it on and you're ready to party.

And, one of the best things about this category is it works for both genders and all ages. Whether the wearer is male or female, one or 100, a superhero or villain costume fits, in every sense of the word.

Celebrities

Celebrities like Hannah Montana are a close relative to superheroes. These days, they're treated like ones, anyway. Lots of tweeners love the fashion options that come with picking her, but there are lots of other choices, too.

For the older crowd, celebrities from the past are often a big hit. They bring a little nostalgia to the party that can produce big laughs. Anyone remember John Travolta's white suit in that disco movie... what was the name? Oh, yeah, Saturday Night Fever. Who could forget!

Sexy

Of course, if you happen to be an adult, sexy is always a hit. Naughty Librarian is right up there with the all-time favorites. Cool Cop works for the guys (or gals) every time.

The possibilities are endless, not least because what is sexy to one Halloweener is a big yawn to someone else. That means you have lots to choose from without worrying about whether someone else is going to show up at the party with the same outfit.

Fantasy and Fairy Tales

For kids and fans, this category continues to be a crowd pleaser. That crowd starts with the parents, but the Halloweener get just as much fun from them.

Fairy Tale Princess has been the choice of the little princess in the house forever. But add a frog to the mix for the little (or big) guy who goes with her and you have a winning combination.

An Alice in Wonderland theme opens up tons of possibilities. There's Alice herself, of course. But Tweedledum and Tweedledee are a perfect pair. The White Rabbit is easy and comfortable on a Fall night.

Easy Choices

Things that are easy to wear, easy to move around in, easy to assemble are always big hits. Togas are the classic example, pun intended. But Doctors and Nurses are a perennial favorite because all you really need is a white lab coat or dress and a stethoscope.

The trick in this category is to not make the costume so generic that no one can tell what the character represents. Putting on a pair of glasses, holding a book, and mussing up your hair may be your idea of Einstein, but it doesn't work for most people.

With hundreds of variations to choose from in these categories you can't go wrong.

Hopefully, you have been inspired to select your perfect Halloween costume for all the Halloween parties you will be attending this year. Be creative and have fun Trick or Treating.

Jedi Knight Robe Star Wars for Child Halloween Costume

Kids costumes for Star Wars aficionados! This Jedi Knight Robe costume will take you from the planet Tattoine to the Death Star to Yoda and back again!! Use the force!

There is nothing more enjoyable than eating breakfast and watching birds flutter and dance outside the kitchen window on a snowy morning. Unfortunately, while children often wonder at the birds and wish to take part in helping to feed them, there is rarely anything a child can do to help. Here are a couple of suggestions to help them get involved and to let them make their own special bird feeders.

Most children hate eating crusts of bread, but birds love them. Next time, rather than tossing the crust, hand them over to your child with a pencil or straw and have them poke a hole through the slices, about 1 inch from the top. If they wish, food coloring can be used to lightly dab some color on their bread slices, letting them make special designs for their bird friends. The bread should then be left to sit on the counter overnight so that it will dry out. The next day, thread a piece of yarn through them, hang the bread from the branches of a nearby tree and watch feathered friends flock to their new bird feeders.

With a string of yarn, a straw, and some Cheerios, even small children can help create these fun bird feeders. Take the yarn (about 24 inches works well) and tie it around the middle of the straw. This will provide a base, allowing your child to thread the yarn through the cereal, not only making an effective bird feeder, but helping develop motor skills. When they have threaded the cereal up to the top, carefully hold the top of the string and then untie the bottom from the straw. Knot the two of these ends together, forming a circlet of cereal, which can be hung outside as a great bird snack. This can also be done using different colored fruit cereals, helping your child with repetitive pattern exercises.

Letting your child become more involved in tasks like this, not only helps them learn but gives them a sense of responsibility as well. Have them keep track of how long it takes for their homemade bird feeders, so they know when it will be time to make more. Have them make charts or draw pictures of what kinds of birds come to their feeders and let them look through books, to identify who their new feathered friends are. Not only will the birds thank you, but your kids will have a great time too.
