Most artists do not make a painting and then decide to leave it stored in their back closet for the rest of their lives. These artists will make these paintings and want to display them, to hang them up where everyone can see them. If lucky, these artists might even try to sell those paintings to someone willing to pay for that work of art. The ultimate goal for an artist is to be able to work solely at painting, creating all day long and getting paid to do so. Therefore, it is often necessary for an artist to have a show to try and sell pieces of their work and these shows are traditionally events held in galleries.

These galleries can be great places for an artist to exhibit their work. Generally, most artists will have a show based along a certain theme and any collector could be able to find a show that is based around different types of celebrity art. Artists will often build their art around critiques of modern society, showing all of the good or bad parts about it, and celebrities will factor heavily into those critiques. Without too much effort, one should be able to find pieces of celebrity art at one of these art shows.

If that collector is looking to make some additions to their collection, they should look at the price tag associated with each of those paintings. Depending on how well known the artist is and how praised their works are, there will be vastly different amounts associated with these works of art. For up and coming artist making pieces of celebrity art, purchasing some of their paintings could be a very wise investment. These pieces have the potential to grow quite valuable as the artist continues to rise in their career and owning them could pay off.

Meeting at artist at one of these art shows could also open the possibility of having a piece done for a collector by commission. By directly approaching the artist and asking for a piece of work about a certain celebrity, a collector could find out the potential of having a custom piece made specifically for their collection. This helps the artist not only get paid for their work, but it adds a unique piece to your collection, potentially bringing the entire collection together into a work of beauty.

Celebrity art shows do not necessarily have to be solely featuring works about celebrities, though. Many celebrities like to experiment in different art forms and painting is one of those most popular forms of expression. A collector could find art shows featuring works of art by certain celebrities and by attending these shows, they could have the chance to purchase art for a private collection which was actually made by a celebrity. This is a different form of celebrity art but one that is still equally as valid as any other. Serious art collectors should try to have as many different types of valuable art as is possible in their collections and celebrities who produce works of autographed art are prime examples of that.

Victor Epand is an expert consultant for autographed celebrity photos, celebrity collectibles, and autographed art. You will find it all at these sites for autographed celebrity photos, celebrity collectibles

COLOR CHOICES - Striped Arm Warmers - Fun and Contemporary

These cool arm warmers are not only functional they look COOL too! Are really fun to dress up a Halloween Costume as well!
Customer Review: Stylish and warm!
I actually bought these for school. LOL I am a college student and a stay at home mom, so I am taking the majority of my classes online. Unfortunately, my study is frigid and my hands were freezing while I was trying to type up research papers and English essays. I tried gloves with the fingertips cut out, but no matter how thin it was, the material in between my fingers severely hindered my typing skills. When I came across these arm warmers, I couldn't believe my luck! I quickly ordered a pair and they are perfect for what I need! I now want several more pairs!
Customer Review: Unbelievable price
Same Leg Avenue item as many other merchants with an incredibly low price! Fit well, easy to use (thin yes, but what do you expect for the price?). Will be buying more. Thanks!

Two free Kids' Halloween Crafts ideas!

If you can get two big balloons, one white and one black, then your kids will love these imaginative kids' Halloween crafts ideas we have for you to turn them into unusual Halloween toys or decorations.

Cute ghost kids craft idea with a white balloon

If your kids liked Casper the ghost they will enjoy this free kids' craft idea for making an adorable little ghost as a toy or a decoration for a Halloween party. It is very simple and cute.

What you need:

  • A big white balloon
  • Some white plastic grocery bags
  • Clear tape
  • A black marker
  • Blunt ended or rounded scissors

Give the kids some white grocery bags and ask them to cut out strips about an inch wide by about 8 inches long, avoiding any colored parts so that the strips are all white.

Blow up the balloon, tie a secure knot in the neck to prevent the air escaping, and then hang it up with string somewhere the children can reach it easily.

Draw spooky eyes and a mouth on the balloon to make a ghost. Now the kids can stick their white strips of plastic all around the bottom end of the balloon to make a floaty ghost effect. This kid's craft idea makes a great Halloween decoration!

Scary spider Kids Halloween crafts idea with a black balloon

Make a huge black spider for Halloween with this kids' craft idea.

What you need:

  • A big black balloon
  • 4 long, black pipe cleaners
  • Some white-out (liquid paper)
  • A bit of string or yarn

Blow up the balloon so that it is only partially inflated, and tie a knot in it. Then make a twist in it so that you have a big ball and a little ball. The little ball will become the spider's head and should be at the end of the balloon with the opening.

Twist each pipe cleaner around the "neck" of the spider by folding it in half over the balloon and twisting tightly. (Adult help may be needed for this bit as the pipe cleaners have sharp ends that may burst the balloon!) Twist the pipe cleaner in such a way that they resemble the legs of a spider. If you have a careful look at a spider you'll notice that all legs are on the front part of the spider.

Your spider now has eight legs! Fold each leg to make it jointed. Using the white-out, paint scary eyes and fangs on the spider's face.

These balloon crafts are popular and fun free Kids' Halloween Crafts ideas for Halloween parties.

The rush of the Christmas shopping season is thrilling for some; however, for the majority of us, it's just awfully stressful. It's difficult to figure out what many of our friends, family, and loved ones really want or could truly make use of. We also have to be concerned with our budgets as well as with just finding the time to get all of our shopping and wrapping done.

However, we have been blessed with a wondrous Christmas boon in the last decade, which is simply the Internet. The Internet makes Christmas shopping online, right from the warmth and comfort of our homes, a genuine possibility. People who used to attempt to do all of their seasonal shopping by way of catalogues now have an even faster and more convenient method for remote shopping with the ability to hop online and scan for gift after gift from all around the world.

But, to make your online holiday shopping experience pleasing and secure, you have to know the rules of this virtual road.

A couple of things about Internet based Christmas shopping remain the same as they ever were when all we had were bricks and mortar retailers. For instance, if you are seeking certain merchandise and you find a great deal right off, don't stop yet. There might be an even better deal on offer somewhere else. And, try to do business with merchants whom you are familiar with or with those whom you have been referred to by friends or family.

Now, with the Internet's benefits of speed and convenience come some hazards. Identity theft on the Internet is notoriously widespread, for instance, and therefore you should only do business online with merchants that show they provide a secure way of paying (look for the padlock icon).

So, what other things must you consider?

  • Remember that looks can be deceiving--especially online. A great website doesn't necessarily indicate great products or customer service, nor does it necessarily mean that the company abides by the law. Look for indications that merchants online are members of independent quality and identity verifiers such as Trust UK.
  • Don't put your trust in merchants that don't give you their full address and a telephone number. And be especially careful with any merchant who is based outside the UK (and make doubly certain you know where they are based).
  • Try to only do business online with merchants who tell you that they have privacy policies in place and won't be selling your personal information with others.

If you observe these simple rules, you can have far more peace of mind as you hunt down the best deals this holiday season, and the Internet is the perfect place to find the best of all possible deals! Not only do you get speed and convenience, you save considerable travel expense money by cutting down on your need for things like petrol, public transportation fares, eating out, and so on.

When shopping online, you'll also find some merchants whose core businesses are web-based. This can save you a bundle of cash, because these merchants have fewer overheads to pay for and can pass on their own savings to you with lower prices. Again, keep in mind that online it's cheap and easy to price-compare.

And don't forget to surf far and wide to find those special holiday sales that are being offered. Try to hold out as long as you can if you have got something in your sights; as the big day draws closer merchants slash prices to move products, but be careful, you don't want to have them run out of stock or not be able to ship it in time for Christmas.

Asian Lady Black Adult Wig Halloween Accessory (B236)

Costume Wigs Asian Lady Halloween Wig one size (adult)

Girls, are you still working on thinking up the best Halloween costumes idea with your partner? Choosing between Greek Goddess Halloween costumes and Vampiress Halloween costumes? If you are in that situation, do not be worried because most of my friends are in the same situation too.

It is good that you now have the costumes and just need to wait for the last day of October but there is still some time for you to get a very good Halloween costume. I am going to give you some ideas right now so you may get your Halloween costumes by the end of today.

There are lots of choices for couple's costumes. If you two want to wear traditional couple's costumes, you may want to disguise as Frankenstein and his bride. They are the horror characters that people love very much.

For those who are going to be the bride of Frankenstein, you can buy an extremely long wig from most of the online Halloween costumes stores. It is also suggested that you pay attention to bolts lowered brow prosthetic. With some make-up, you will totally make yourself become that absolutely terrible appearance.

Another idea is to dress up like Vampire and Vampiress. They are also classical and horror characters. You will have lots of choices. You can choose to buy either an expensive one or just a lower-priced one. Of course there are some differences. The more you pay, the more detailed your Halloween costume will be. And you usually will be more unique because most people do not want to spend too much money on buying Halloween costumes. But I can say it is worth doing so because being unique and the focus of the crowd on Halloween parties is wonderful.

If you do not like the horror characters, you may want to consider putting on Greek Goddess Halloween costumes. The costumes are simple. You may only need a chiton and some props. You can even make one for yourself if your sewing skill is good. Other suggestion will be Mark Anthony and Cleopatra as well as Spartan and Queen Gorgo from the movie 300. I personally do not want to disguise as the latter one because the level of popularity will definitely be lower than the previous year's.

You can also be funny characters. How about dressing up something like "Lock and Key", "Bacon & Eggs" or "Ketchup and Mustard"? I would say they are fantastic and I can guarantee you will have lots of laughs around you on Halloween.

As I mentioned above, some people are not willing to pay too much money on Halloween costumes because they think that the costumes are rarely worn. You may be concerned about the same thing too. If you are, I also have some ideas for you. You can choose to buy the costumes of Caribbean Pirates. You can wear them at all festivals. Is it more cost-effective for you? It must be yes but the fact is that they are very common. You may not have too much fun with them.

Now you have some ideas and you may even have a target. I strongly recommend you to buy the Halloween costumes online. The reason is most people have bought their Halloween costumes from the real Halloween costumes stores already. Your target costumes may be out-of-stock now. So surf the Internet. It will be more possible for you to get the costumes.

I do not know which kind of costumes you are going to wear. But if you want to buy Greek Goddess Halloween costumes, I have an idea for you. You may find lots of choices on Greek Goddess Halloween Costumes 2008.

Adult Bull Fighter Halloween Costume

These days, many families struggle to find time when they can all be together. Sometimes it's because both parents work long hours and sometimes it's because of the kids' many extracurricular activities.

Some nights are going to be crazy busy and you each just have to eat when you can. Other times your family can shift things around to make time for a family meal. Dinner together as a family has never been more important. Why? Here are some reasons:

Eating meals together increases enjoyment of the meal. Food tastes so much better when you're eating with someone else, don't you think? You might say that when you eat together your food is well-seasoned with love or friendship.

Eating altogether encourages communication and strengthens family bonds. With hectic schedules, families don't spend as much time together. Slowing down and sharing a meal gives everyone a chance to catch up with the day's events. You get to find out just how each family member is doing. Call it a daily family check-up.

Younger children love having routines. Sharing meals together with the whole family is a positive event in their young lives and they look forward to it. Don't have them share their meal with the TV. The TV is not a dinner partner, and certainly not family.

Family dinner conversation helps children's vocabularies to grow. When kids listen to their parents or older siblings speak, they learn new words. They will ask what the words mean or figure out the "gist of it", but either way, they are more likely to understand and use more words because of older people conversing with them.

The dinner table is where children learn social skills. Table manners are not something learned from a book, they're learned by practicing them. Kids learn them from their parents - when eating with them. The art of dinner conversation is also a skill they learn from parents at the dinner table. Another plus of dinner conversation is that kids often get to learn about their family history.

Eating traditional foods as a family strengthens a family's ethnic background. Having meals traditional to their heritage helps children to identify and bond with their heritage.

Kids eat healthier at the family dinner table. Kids who eat without their parents tend to eat fewer of the desired foods and more of the less-desired foods. This is particularly true of teenagers who eat more junk food or fast food when by themselves or with friends. When kids eat with their parents, the parents usually provide healthier meals and can keep an eye on what their kids are eating.

Even though it's not always easy to gather together as a family for a meal, it's worth the extra effort. Eating dinner (or any meal) together is a time for nourishment as well as a time for strengthening bonds. After all, family time is treasured time.

Halloween? No

All Hallows Eve? Yes

Reformation Day? Yes

All Hallows Eve insted of Halloween

Originally the word was a contraction for All Hallows' Eve, thus Hallow'een, as if Hallow' Eve. But the eve of what and what does it mean?
Hallow means holy or holy ones as in the "hallowed be thy name" from the lords prayer.
Just as Our Father who art in Heaven is Holy, and so are the Saints, and the Hallows in Hallow'een refer to the Saints.
The next day, 1 November is All Saints Day so Halloween is the Eve of All Saints Day, thus All Hallows' Eve.

Well the forces of darkness, the witches, demons, devils, skeletons, ghouls and goblins are scared to death of the Saints who are marching in the next day, All Saints Day.

Halloween is a day to celebrate the Victory of the Saints over Evil forces, who are being chased out of their many hiding places by the forces of the Light of Jesus Christ.
Reformation Day

On October 31 in the Year of Our Lord Jesus 1517, Martin Luther posted his world changing Ninety-Five Theses on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany that protested the false teachings that have invaded too much of the church.

That act essentially began to have the Saints, the believers in Jesus Christ, start to Reform the church, to chase from the church the forces of evil that had invaded it.

The actual start of the Reformation came with John Wycliffe, born in Yorkshire in 1330, who died in Lutterworth, England in 1384, who is known as the "Morning Star of the Reformation" because he translated the Holy Bible into the English language so the people could read the Words of God, not rely solely on what the priests in the church told them the Bible said.

When Wycliffe wrote his translation of the Holy Bible, it had to be done by hand lettering, a slow processs. Yet the influence of the Wycliffe Bible was so great that forty years after he died, his skeleton was dug up, the bones burned, and the ashes thrown into the River, and from there they flowed into the ocean and touched every land of the world.

That story of Wycliffe certainly relates to the presence of skeletons and graveyards that is part of the Halloween lore.

Yet in 1436, the Gutenberg printing press was created, a short 36 miles away from Wittenberg, that allowed the Holy Bible and the writings of Martin Luther to be reprinted and widely distributed that fostered the rapid growth of the Reformation.

So now when you go out on Halloween, consider dressing as a Saint or as an Angel of Good, as an Angel of the Truth of Jesus Christ, who conquers evil in every day and age, and conquer the evil of the modern Halloween Night by sharing Gospel Tracts, sharing the Holy Bible and telling the True Story of Halloween, the Eve of All Saints Day.

Oh, when the saints go marching in

We are trav'ling in the footsteps

Of those who've gone before,

And we'll all be reunited,

On a new and sunlit shore,

Oh, when the saints go marching in

Oh, when the saints go marching in

Lord, how I want to be in that number

When the saints go marching in

And when the sun refuse to shine

And when the sun refuse to shine

Lord, how I want to be in that number

When the sun refuse to shine

And when the moon turns red with blood

And when the moon turns red with blood

Lord, how I want to be in that number

When the moon turns red with blood

Oh, when the trumpet sounds its call

Oh, when the trumpet sounds its call

Lord, how I want to be in that number

When the trumpet sounds its call

Some say this world of trouble,

Is the only one we need,

But I'm waiting for that morning,

When the new world is revealed.

The Flash Halloween Costumes Kids The Flash Costume

The Flash Halloween Costumes Kids The Flash Costume costume includes: headpiece and jumpsuit with attached boot tops.
Customer Review: Our 4 and 1/2 year-old loved it!
Our 4 and 1/2 year-old loved it! Was exactly what we were looking for - he wore it almost all Christmas Day :)
Customer Review: In a Flash!
Out of the ordinary costume that my 5 y/o son loved! He was very comfortable and still wears it around the house and to bed.

If you loved their music, their soulful melodious voices and their path breaking looks and costumes, you are a die hard ABBA fan. The 70s disco sensations rocked the world with songs like "money, money, money", "Dancing queen", " Voulez Vous"! They still continue to have successful solo careers but the heights they attained as the band ABBA are unsurpassed. After Volvo, ABBA was the next best thing to happen to Sweden and for several years they were revered and worshipped by the nation.

The ABBAs were as popular across the Atlantic too! Their albums opened at top slots on the UK and US music charts alike and their tours took them from the English speaking world of England and United States to the non-English speaking Scandinavia, Japan and Germany among others. They were equally loved everywhere they toured and their Swedish accents, hair, clothes, elaborate belts and fringed bottoms were copied and imitated all over.

Decades later, when you step out for a disco themed party, the first costume you think of donning is an ABBA costume. Be it a Fancy dress party at child's school or a hen night party with the girls, an ABBA costume makes you feel like a queen! Perhaps the most 'googled' item when it comes to costumes is the blonde wig worn by Agneta in the 'Dancing queen'. The wig can instantly transform you into another world, all you need is the vocals and you can rule the party. The ABBA costume is great as a couple's costume as well. So, wear it to a Halloween party or a couple theme party and you are bound to be noticed and praised for your looks. The ladies could wear the mini-skirt with fringes with white boots; a shirt with flared sleeves with bells from the elbow onwards. Add a broad belt and a blonde or red wig and viola! The men could team their own trousers or a bell bottom with silver or blue patterned shirt and a blonde Bjorn wig as well. Carry inflatable guitars and strut your stuff with pride! Matching cat suits in white, silver or blue would also do wonders in transforming you into the perfect ABBA couple.

Invited to A theme party on the 70s? The best bet is to dress up as one of the band members of ABBA. Even if you simply wear long sleeved loose shirts with added fringes over bootlegs with three or four flares below the knee, everybody would know you are the ABBAs. The heightened popularity of the ABBAs makes their costumes so accessible and recognizable that you will never have to explain who you are dressed like! And if you have a voice to match, grab some lyrics and you have won the party already! One of the best places to compare and show off your ABBA costumes is tribute nights. The ABBA tribute nights see people donning costumes from particular songs and tours to the hilt. So, while the 'Mamma Mia' costumes are pretty famous, they are beaten hands down by the more widely chosen 'Dancing Queen'.

Whether at Halloween, a costume party, fancy dress competition or the upcoming ABBA movie show don your best ABBA costume and impress the world around you!

American Gladiators Venom Adult Costume

Includes: Jumpsuit and shin guards. Gladiator stick not included. This is an officially licensed American Gladiators costume.

Halloween is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. Halloween is a time for fun and for dressing up in pirate costumes and Disney costumes. This is a great time to enjoy the spirit of the holiday with friends and family. Do you have your Halloween costume nailed down yet? If you are still driving yourself crazy trying to find the best Halloween costume, give a little thought to some of these Halloween ideas; go with homemade costumes, order online, search the popular movies and TV shows for themes...superheroes are huge this year! The internet has made it is extremely convenient to order costumes online while avoiding the long lines and disappointment of finding your size out of stock.

Shopping online has got to be the easiest way to go about finding your costume for Halloween. There are hundreds of sites that will give you info on the different types of costumes available, what's hot this year, ideas for adults, kids, teens, couples...even your pets and what each character should look like.

Most online sites will give you the information you need such as how to get the material for a costume, how to make it at home or how to order it directly from the site. Tips on purchasing all the vital extra accessories that go with the costume is usually given as well. After several years of taking my daughter shopping and not finding what she wants or finding it, only to see that it's 4 times too big; I have come to the conclusion that shopping online is the best way to find out what's hot, get your costume and find accessories for Halloween.

While choosing Halloween accessories it's always safety first; take care that they are not too long, big or potentially dangerous. For small children it's better to use Halloween makeup instead of a full mask. All Halloween masks should have nose and mouth openings and large eye holes.

Costumes can be worn for trick-a-treating, best-dressed contests, costume parties, themed parties or any other parties. This is the one time of year that adults and children alike love dressing up in costumes to fulfill their fantasies. Obtaining the perfect look means you need to completely change the way you look. The dress you wear has to be the right one. The makeup should be perfect. You want to be transformed into the character of your dreams. You want the knowledge and materials to give you the realistic look. This year take a few minutes and browse the net. Before you know it you will be able to download Halloween. Happy Haunting!

Toddler Lobster Halloween Costume (Size: 2-4T)

The holidays are a time for gatherings of family and friends to celebrate the good that has come into our lives. Often this means good food, special decorations, and exchanging gifts. It also can mean extra spending, and hassle, and frustration. One way to reduce the stress of the holiday season is to discover your invaluable gifts. These are the gifts that are timeless, always appreciated, and to not wear out. Here are seven tips for discovering them.

1) Be creative. Our most meaningful experiences are the ones that touch the heart. They can be hand-written notes of appreciation, a poem that you frame, pictures in a photo album, or an act of love and service.

2) Everyone has strengths, that is unique aspects of our character that engage us in activities that we especially enjoy doing. For some it may a love of learning, for another socializing. Consider giving gifts around your area of strength and use it in your holiday plans. For example, if you enjoy learning, give gifts of books, or if you enjoy socializing, consider bringing people together for a holiday activity. You can plan and work together as a team, each using your strengths. These strengths help us to expand and build our relationships, which is a great source of happiness of all.

3) Take time to recognize and appreciate the strengths of others. When you reflect on their strengths and share what you appreciate, it builds their awareness of how they are useful. It is much easier for people to appreciate their strengths when they have feedback from others.

4) Cherish your stories. The stories in our life are often built around our strengths. The best stories are those where a challenge was overcome. You might notice what your loved ones did and how you appreciated it. Take time to describe how they rose to the occasion to overcome the challenge. Even better, write it up and include a picture or two. You and your loved ones will cherish these stories for many years to come.

5) Embrace differences. Often friends and family have different views from ourselves. When they push our buttons, it may not seem like a gift. Think again. They would not create a hassle unless they cared. Is there anyway this might really be a gift, or a strength lurking underneath?

6) Appreciate the gifts of age. Each age period has a unique contribution. For example, young children give us the gift of wonder, and curiosity, as they explore the world. Older people give the gift of wisdom and an appreciation of spirit. When we acknowledge the contributions of all the ages, all are included and our celebration becomes more enriched and fulfilled.

7. Finally, all of the holiday pleasures, such as tasty food and holiday decorations are more long lasting and meaningful when combined with the invaluable ones.

Child's Toddler Fur Monkey Halloween Costume (2-4)

Create an exciting and welcoming home for your Thanksgiving festivities.

Five "Welcome to Our Home" Holiday Decorating Tips

1. Door wreaths welcome all to your home and set the stage for celebrating. Make a simple wreath to hang on your front door with Thanksgiving colors--brown, russet, olive green. Use tree branches from your garden; attach a few gourds, nuts, raffia, and ribbons.

2. Place a gorgeous mum by your front door. You can plant it later and get flowers next Thanksgiving to use inside. It just takes one bright spot near your front door to attract the eye of arriving guests.

3. Wrap your front door with gift wrap appropriate to Thanksgiving.

4. Make a "welcome to our home" banner. Add your ribbons, raffia, and fall leaves.

5. Group vines, pumpkins, and mums for display impact near the front entrance. Adjust the vines to add height and movement.

Fall Leaves make great interior and exterior decorations. Be sure to hose off any bugs!

Five Holiday Decorating Tips for Your Home's Interior

1. Display vegetables and mini pumpkins on a tray. Fill in any gaps with fall leaves, moss, raffia, or wheat. If orange clashes with your home's interior, use green apples and spray paint the mini-pumpkins your colors.

2. Tie ribbons and raffia around your candle bases and around your floral arrangements.

3. Set fall-color leaves under your decorations. Safety Tip: Keep leaves separated from melting candle wax.

4. Extend your flower arrangements with fall tree branches. Just one flower package makes a huge impact when you divide and spread it around.

5. Use copper, bronze, and gold spray paint to dress up plain gourds. Fill a glass or crystal bowl with the gourds, oranges, and nuts.

Did I already mention gorgeous red, golden leaves? Here's another way to add fall color: Place the leaves in your green potted-plants.

One beautiful way to kick off your holiday season: Wrap tiny gifts in gold foil; top off with brown and russet ribbons, and place the gifts on the dinner plate. Your table will look fabulous and your guests will love the thought.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween is such fun for kids of all ages, and adults too. Here are some face painting ideas to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Halloween face painting idea 1: pumpkin

A bright orange pumpkin painted on each cheek. Black paint used to paint eyes, nose and mouth. A light grey would be used to show the ridges of the pumpkin as well as its outline.
An alternative would be to do a full face pumpkin with an orange face base (blending a darker orange shade over cheekbones), black triangle shape over the eyes (extending above and below the eye area), a black nose and a large black mouth (need to cover more than just the lips).

Halloween face painting idea 2: skull

A full face design. Has a white face as the base, large black 'panda' eyes, black and white vertical stripes on the lips (with the white stripes wider than the black ones) and a trickle of red from one side of the mouth (to indicate blood).

Halloween face painting idea 3: vampire

A full face design. A white face base, bright red lips, fangs coming out of each corner of the lower lip (outline is light grey, fill is white, and tip is red to denote some blood), eye lids are smoky grey (right up to and over eye brows), eye brow then exaggerated with black sweeping strokes.

Halloween face painting idea 4: bat

A full face design. A white face base, bat's face painted on forehead above the nose (it's in black with light grey for eyeballs, and for some definition in ears); the bat's body is painted in black on the nose and ends at the base of the nostrils (use different shadings of black; the bat's wings extends out from head and body and covers the eyes curving up towards the temple and down the outside of the eye to mid cheek (again use different black shadings and some fine dark grey strokes to paint some definition into the wings); the lips are painted in dark grey with an exaggerated upward curl at the corners.

Printable Halloween mask are great ways to trick-or-treat without the cost of high quality mask products available on the market. Children love to dress up as their scariest nightmares or their favorite heroes. What better way to have fun with the holiday, than by creating your own costume that has been customized buy them personally. Creating these printable Halloween masks can be a very fun project that you and your child can enjoy together. It is easy to do and will be a great addition to your child's Halloween costume.

In making these printable Halloween masks all you need is a computer and a printer. You can search the Internet for images of your child's favorite hero or heroine or even the scariest thing imaginable. Once you have found the desired image, you can right click on the image and choose to save to a destination on your computer.

Once you have saved the image you can then send it to your printer and change the size to fit the printer paper. Once you have printed the image onto the paper, you can then cut out the printable Halloween masks shape. Once you have completed these tasks, you can punch a hole on either side of the mask. Then you want to tie a string or piece of elastic band to the holes so that your child can place the mask over their face.

If your child wishes, instead of tying a piece of string to the mask, you can glue or tape a piece of wood dowel or even a pop cycle stick to the bottom of the mask. This will allow them to hold the mask up in front of their face when it is needed. A laser or ink jet printer would be the proper type of printer to use for this project.

These printable Halloween masks can allow our child to have a great time trick-or-treating with out spending a lot of money on expensive Halloween costumes. Having such a project that you and your child can do together is a great way for the two of you to spend building on the relationship that is between a parent and their children.

In making these kind of mask, it allows your child to be the designer of their own costume. This can be a great way for your child to learn some independence. So for fun that you can enjoy with your children, try this idea this holiday season.

Kids Knight Costume Hat / Helmet - For Halloween Costumes or Plays!

Soft Knight hat in Silver and Gold is an Awsome accessory to any knight costume.

According to research from a leading price comparison website, claims for damage dome to property rises by 150 per cent on 31st October and people are said to claim more at this time than any other time of the year.

There are many people who pretend to be out or actually go out on this night but although this may deter some trick-or-treaters, it may not be enough to deter them all.

There are some councils that are making posters available that declare you are unwilling to join in the festivities, but arguably this could have the opposite effect.

Advice given to people is to remove any items from outside your house that you do not want damaged as not all house insurance policies cover damage done to your belongings that are outside of your property.

Another thing to watch out for is for any trick-or treating children falling and hurting themselves in your driveway as this could leave you lumbered with a lawsuit. People who own a dog are also warned to keep them under control in-case they were to cause any damage to the people looking for treats at your door.

The best thing to do is to check that your insurance policy covers your home, inside and out for any damage that may be caused. If you find that your home insurance policy doesn't cover you for this damage, the best thing to do may be to compare other policies on the internet to find one that will suit your specific needs. By doing this you may find that you will be protected a lot more than with your original policy.

Time to get started on this topic. Take a few moments to read every aspect of this paper hopefully it will be of great help.

The world depends on diverse forms of oil to work industrial trading operations and to help keep residencies warm during the cold winter months. The oil we need is drilled from two types of oil rigs. These rigs are land based oil rigs and ocean offshore rigs.

Even though the oil rigs can be different in positions on the surface of the earth they perform the same task. This is to locate a deposit of oil and drill for it. For this ground the oil rigs are constructed of solidness material which can stand up to severe storm weather. The rig is also large enough to contain all of the tools, equipment and machinery that is necessary to operate the rig.

As the oil deposits are generally found some distances away from civilization the various oil rigs need to be absolutely self-sufficient. To supply for this ground the rig will have an electric plant that generates the power needed for the work. The bigger offshore oil rigs will have a desalination plant to purify salt water so that it is converted to fresh water. A treatment plant can be found on the premises of oil rigs.

The handling plant will safely dispose of the versatile wastes that accumulate in the oil rigs. This allows the drilling crew to continue their work without worrying about the need to discard of these safely in an environmental friendly manner. To make the lives of the drilling crew comfortable they have very comfortable living quarters....read more on a site that is all about this topic and more..

This article was written to provide you with knowledge about the subject I appreciate you taking your time to read it.

Halloween Michael Myers Classic Horror Suspense Movie Sequel Whiteout Adult Black T-Shirt

Holidays and special events should be a time of great joy, but dieters customarily imagine these occasions with dread and horror. Why? Because celebrations are not celebrations without lots of high-calorie, tempting foods. Does this suggest that you have to become a social-scrooge to duck temptation? No. The "secret" is to create a survival "plan" ahead of time and stick to it throughout this holiday season.

"If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail" is a time worn and clichd statement. But it's still wonderful success advice. Not only do most people fail to plan, they consciously plan to fail over the holidays.

Most people expect to "blow" their diet and miss workouts during the holidays. They expect to eat more, exercise less and gain weight. Instead of putting forth the effort by taking control, they resign themselves to maintenance at best or back-sliding at worst.

This negative expectancy leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy. By the first week of January, they're in the worst shape they've been in for a year and they frantically make New Year's resolutions to shed the excess fat they've gained. Is that your approach? Or, are you going to be strong and really make it all the way to the New Year without gaining weight?

Let's revisit October with the ghost of binge past. Oktoberfest plus Halloween equaled a huge junk food binge for some of us. Oktoberfest and Halloween are over and done. Does that mean you are going to let the ghost of binge past turn you into a food scrooge? Are you going to pass up seasonal celebrations to avoid the fattening feasts?

Ho, Hum! How do you avoid turning into a miserable ol' food scrooge?

First, get the Halloween candy out of your house. Take it far away. Okay, there are hungry children in third world countries, but you cannot lend a hand by eating everything in sight! Plus, feeding our sweet tooth is like watering a plant. It only makes the thing bigger, needing more the next time. Ho, Hum!

Wait! Look into your secret stashes and throw them in the trash with old coffee grounds and banana peel (so they won't find their way back out again). Yes, get rid of the sweets in your desk.

If you empty out all the candy, and find that your house echoes because there's nothing left in it, swap them with snacks such as unsalted nuts, fruits and vegetables.

Second, plan to tell friends and family to foregos food gifts. If you still get them, thank the person, but later give the food away to someone else. This way, you won't hurt the giver's feelings and you will eliminate your temptation.

Third, manage your time. With hectic schedules, there never seems to be enough time to plan, eat, exercise, clean, shop, cook, and decorate. Sit down and write out daily schedules for the weeks before your events. Determine what you can reasonable do in specific time frames and then plan to do it. Manage to have a meal replacement when you are on the go. They are far more nutritious than a fast food meal and more convenient.

Fourth, plan to modify your recipes. You don't have to give up traditional favorites - just modify them. For instance, make turkey stuffing low fat by sauting onions and celery in broth in place of butter. Use sugar-free gelatin to slice calories in gelatin molds. Take a look at your recipes to see if you can eliminate or decrease some ingredients or use lower calorie substitutes.

Fifth, plan to leave the leftovers. Too often leftover food goes into your mouth instead of the storage container, even if you're already stuffed. Give leftovers away, make packages for your guests to take with them, take food into work, or divide leftovers into portions to use with your diet plan.

Sixth, control your eating. The moment you arrive to a holiday gathering, check out the food and pick out a few "healthy" foods to eat and skip all the others. Eat slowly and savor every bite. So you don't overeat, eating a meal replacement beforehand can help fill you up before you reach the holiday party table loaded with "once a year, you have to eat me treats."

Seventh, meal replacement are your answer if you're like most people, and don't' have several hours a day to prepare healthy and nutritious meals. Study shows that people who replace several meals a week with portion-controlled foods, like liquid shakes or snack bars, lose significantly more weight in three months than folks who simple try to cut calories. What's the secret of meal replacements? Meal replacements keep it simple. Forget counting carbs or calories!

So you see, you don't have to fail to plan. You really can make it to New Years without gaining an ounce by including meal replacements in your diet. And, when you make it to New Years Day (and you have not gained weight), you will be free to avoid the parade of New Years dieters. Everyone else will be starting the latest fad, but you will be living your new lifestyle without deprivation dieting. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

Using Wire with Dollhouse Furniture

Would you like a very detailed piece of dollhouse furniture? Choosing a wire material means that the craftsman has greater flexibility to do what normal wood could not. In any case, you will see wire designs of furniture that would be very fragile with would perform magnificently with wire. You will see this material in most interlaced dollhouse furniture designs.

Unfinished Kits

If you found building your own dollhouse to be a fulfilling and liberating experience, consider purchasing furniture kits or unfinished furniture. Furniture kits include items you put together yourself that will look like their picture once they are completed. If you want to assemble the furniture yourself, buy a furniture kit; completed items will appear as they do in the picture.

Dollhouse Bedrooms

Every dollhouse needs a dollhouse bedroom. There are so many styles, colors, designs, and furniture pieces available that each bedroom set is truly unique. Details you may find include beautifully made bedding and intricate carvings.

Victorian Dollhouse Furniture

Out of the many differing styles Victorian is by far the most popular. Victorian has the classic feel of the Victorian era - curved and rounded lines, high ended backs, and prominent detailed legs. It is no wonder why Victorian dollhouse furniture is the best choice and top seller, it truly is just fun to design, play with, and coordinate Victorian dollhouse furniture.

Black

Looking for a unique color for your dollhouse furniture? Black defiantly stands out and makes an impression. Not only does black furniture attract the eye, but most pieces have accented hand painted designs. This is a great color for a more nontraditional or cultural design for your dollhouse.

Kitchen Furniture

The variety within dollhouse kitchen sets is enormous: you can purchase just two or three necessary pieces, or you can choose a luxurious roomful-and everything in between You will definitely want to have a table and chairs in your kitchen if you are not planning to add a separate dining room to your dollhouse. Some of the most fantastic dollhouse accessories belong in the kitchen (such as cookie tins for the cabinets and a gallon of milk for the fridge), so make sure you have room to exhibit them

Poly-resin

A growing market in the way of dollhouse material is the use of poly-resin in miniature accessories and furniture. It is a durable material blend from polyester and resin that can be molded and shaped with precise detail. By using poly-resin with your dollhouse furniture you will get a very solid detail without having to worry about fabric or color fading.

Adult's Purple Grapes Halloween Costume

Halloween and All Saints Day are twin occasions. One, through historical and traditionally cultural celebrations, points to the observance of All Saints Day, which focuses less on the macabre and more on the spiritual. One is no less an occasion for confronting the reality of death than the other.

Halloween has come to be a commercialized, more frivolous and mundane occasion, while All Saints Day is more dignified, more concentrated on the passing of a dear family member, individual friend or collective group of deceased persons who have borne considerable importance in our lives.

No one argues that one is more or less important than the other. It could be said that Halloween is the opening act. It is the opportunity to allow one to move from celebration to contemplation. Death, in both cases, is still a stark reality. Perception of and management of death differs in the two.

Many memorial services today are less somber and more celebratory. Recognition is given to the value of the life of the deceased and to their passing from our presence. It becomes an affirmation of their importance, example, lessons taught from their time among us.

All Saints Day, as an annual event, catches up all who have died in the past year and gives public opportunity for a renewed remembering of their importance to our lives.

Like Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Halloween is more a human experience, a frivolous regard for what follows, which is the awareness of death, and in the case of Lent and Easter, an acknowledgment of Resurrection. One does not occur without the other. While there is an element of paganism in these acts, there is struggle and resistance and finally surrender.

Halloween is another way to confront death. And, if one readies oneself to deal with the sure and certain prospect of death, there is no impropriety in facing it in whatever way gives a person insight into recognizing its inevitability. Fear of death prompts lack of faith. Who knows, for sure, what lies on the other side? Like all mysteries no solution, however couched in language, gives us a final picture of what death may be like in its existential state.

These human occasions, Halloween, All Saints Day, Fat Tuesday, even Good Friday, at best only give us a glimpse, and it is a glimpse made up of metaphysical experiences.

No arguments here, regarding, how one acts out one's faith and belief system. These in the moment experiences simply allow a pragmatic way for us to express a desire to reach beyond ourselves in life and to grasp what lies beyond in death.

So whatever, however you may go about incorporating these occasions in your own metaphysical moment, do so with satisfaction and joy that attempting to reach out for mercy and grace is an ever constant undertaking.

Sexy 2Pc Super Hero Wonder Woman Halloween Costume by Leg avenue

Card making is a rewarding and fun hobby. Not only do you get to be creative and play around with your favourite craft supplies, but you also have the opportunity to make personalised and unique gifts for someone special in your life.

Making cards is simple, but when you're still learning what to do, it can be difficult to know where to start. A good starting place is to decide what embellishments you would like to use to decorate your card. My favourite embellishments are:

1. Patterned Papers - There is a huge number of patterned papers to choose from. I suggest you check your local scrapbooking store and pick out some of your favourites. Often papers are so detailed and exquisite that you don't need any other embellishments for your card. I tend to buy a lot of floral papers as they make interesting backgrounds. Plus, you can cut out individual flowers as your centrepiece.

2. Stickers - Stickers make great centrepieces for your cards. And again, there is a huge range of stickers on the market for you to choose from. There is everything from cute baby shapes to sophisticated flourishes and swirls. So no matter what your taste and style, you will be able to find something appropriate for your project. If you are a little more advanced and have a bit more time on your hands, you may prefer to use stamps instead of stickers.

3. Ribbon - Ribbons are the perfect way to add texture and dimension to your cards. Muted natural colours give your cards an elegant feel while bright colours make your card look more funky.

4. Brads - Brads are another way of adding dimension to your cards. You can arrange them in patterns to give the impression of different shapes or you can use them to secure other elements like tags and ribbons to your cards.

5. Ink Pads - Technically ink pads are not considered an embellishment, but I would never make cards without a few ink pads on standby. I often use them to ink the edges of my papers to give them a softer and more interesting look.

Once you've chosen your embellishments, you're all set to start making gorgeous cards of your own.

Halloween Wig Bad Fariy Black with Red Accents

Black wig with red detailing. Rose ribbon holds pigtails on both sides with a widow's peak front.

The pile of Halloween party invitations sitting on your desk doesn't have to be sinister-there are plenty of simple costume ideas that will make your evening easy and eerily inexpensive!

Next time you receive a Halloween party invitation from a close friend in the mail, consider dressing up like the party's host for a funny, unexpected twist-often all you need is a wig, a distinctive outfit and a good sense of humor!

Also, if you are as paper-obsessed as everyone here at Tiny Prints, you can use old Halloween party invitations and other social stationery to make your costume. Use a copy machine to enlarge the Halloween invitation itself and wear it like a big sign, telling everyone that you are the "prints" or "prints-ess" of the party. Or you could just stick Halloween invites all over your body and tell everyone you are a deck of cards!

When Halloween party invitations encourage you to bring a guest, it's a golden opportunity to don devilishly delightful duo costumes. Depending on the tone of the event set by the Halloween invitation, you and your date can dress up like easily recognizable celebs, literary characters or household items. Salt and pepper are popular choices, as are the signature looks of celebrity pairings like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. If the Halloween party invitation sets a more playful tone, women can channel their inner fairy tale princesses by dressing up like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, and men can go with characters like Bert and Ernie or Bart Simpson and Milhouse.

No matter what creative costume you choose, a little imagination and a lot of style will surely make this one happening Halloween!

Katie is a writer for http://www.tinyprints.com - Tiny Prints is an online stationer where you can find unique & stylish personalized baby photo birth announcements, birthday party invitations, holiday cards, thank you cards & more!

These little Pies are sweet and spicy treats for that use up the Pumpkin flesh that you carve out of your funny Halloween Lanterns. You can use canned pumpkin if you wish, but fresh is best. For an extra crunch you can also sprinkle some toasted Sesame Seeds on half the cookies - use those ones on the top half of the 'pie'. These tasty little morsels will keep quite well in an airtight container, but it's unlikely that you will need to do that as they don't last long.

This quantity will make about 70 cookies which will convert into 35 pies.

Cookie Ingredients

2 large egg yolks
2 cups brown sugar

Priest Classic Adult Halloween Costume (B476)

Priest Costume includes: Robe with clerical collar.

Halloween cupcakes are a big hit among all the festivities that occur on this particular fall holiday. Everyone enjoys a nice tasty treat that is spectacular all at once! While you can purchase all of the supplies that you need to make these wonderful treats, many elect to create some of the components of this snack themselves. In the cupcake, many will decide to strike out and create their own frosting.

This is actually a very easy task to perform in the kitchen. All it takes is a few ingredients, some creativity, and the knack for creating delicious snacks, and you can easily learn how to create frosting for Halloween cupcakes! Here, I will share with you the details on how to do just this!

Now, the first thing that you will want to do is to gather a few tools. You will need a measuring cup, a teaspoon, an electric mixer, a bowl, and a blender. Now, it is time to get together the ingredients that you will need in order to create your very own spooky spectacular frosting for all of those Halloween cupcakes.

You should get up about eight tablespoons of butter. If you prefer, you can actually substitute some softened margarine in place of the butter. Then, you will need at least two cups of powdered sugar. Once you have this in order, go ahead and measure out at least half a cup of cocoa that is powdered, and two egg yolks.

In Get the milk out and pour approximately a third of milk in it. Run over to the pantry and grab the vanilla flavoring. You will need about a teaspoon of this ingredient. Now, once you have all of your ingredients together, it is time to move to the next step in preparation.

Now, place your butter or margarine in the bowl that you set aside. Take your electric mixer and mix this until it turns out sort of fluffy. Now, let's take those egg yolks and place them in the bowl. You should also add the milk at this point too. Then, simply throw in the sugar and the cocoa.

Now, take that beater and place it in the bowl with all of the ingredients. The very last step is to take the vanilla flavoring, add it to the mix, and blend it all together until the consistency that you prefer is accomplished. See how easy it is to make your own frosting for Halloween cupcakes? Anyone can do it!

Hannah Montana costumes are expected to be the top choice for tween girls this year, just like last year. However, for many the economy this year has put a bit of a damper on how much we can actually afford to spend on one days outfit. Although many prices for outfits are less expensive this year than previous years and some have already been put on sale, scrounging up thirty to fifty dollars for one days wear may be out of the question for many families.

You know that you don't want to disappoint your daughter as she has been waiting months to pretend that she is Hannah Montana, so what can you do?

Who says that her outfit can only be worn one day? I'm not just talking about letting her show off her cool new look the days right before and right after Halloween, I'm saying make several plans to fit in her outfit during the next year.

There are other occasions during the year that your daughter can be Miley Cyrus' alternate persona. Let us explore a few ideas.
  • Girls love sleepovers. When your daughter plans a sleepover for her best friends have a "come as your favorite person" themed party. This way all the girls can dress up and put together a new outfit or they can all wear the outfit that they wore on Halloween. It doesn't have to be fancy get together, just serve the usual chips and snacks that they love. However, it does put a new spin on their get together and will add a bit of extra excitement.
  • Have you thought about a themed birthday party? You can base the entire party about Hannah Montana by having themed party supplies like plates, cups and invitations. Your daughters friends can all come dressed up as Hannah or they can dress as their favorite pop star and take turns singing their favorite songs. You can purchase inexpensive small gifts like lip gloss or party favors and let the girls have a singing competition where each girl wins some type of a prize.
  • If your family dines out, let your daughter wear her costume. You can change the look a bit by not having her wear the wig that may have come with her costume and possibly let her wear pants or jeans instead of the leggings or skirt that came with the outfit. This will give the outfit a new look, yet she will still feel very special.

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head. I know that if you think about it, you can probably come up with many more. This way you stretch your budget a bit yet you still can become a star in your daughters eyes. Every time she wears her Hannah Montana costume, she will be smiling from ear to ear and will make the cost per use, less. This will make both of you very happy.

Adult's Super Mario Halloween Costume (Size: X-Large 46-48)

Customer Review: adult mario costume
Was very pleased at how fast the item arrived. It basically was what we were looking for. We did make our own hat for the character, which looks a little more authentic. Any chance on getting other Mario character outfits-----------------eg. Wario,Princess Peach etc.? Thank you.

Snow globes are great for any occasion or holiday, simply by changing what you use to create your scene. Just let your imagination run wild!

For example, make a harvest scene for Thanksgiving, a ghostly haunted house for Halloween, a red Valentine heart or colorful Easter/Spring display for the holiday of your choice.

Other themes could include a special birthday or event, sports team, favorite cartoon character or superhero, seashell or Victorian motif, to name just a few.

Once you have an event or theme in mind, it's easy to gather together the elements for a really unique custom made creation.

WINTER CRAFTS SNOW GLOBE

Materials:

Clear Glass Jar with a tight lid (pickle, pimento, jelly, baby food)

Small Waterproof Ornaments, Figures or Decorations

Distilled Water or Water that has been boiled and cooled

Clear Silicone Sealant (Aquarium Sealant) or Florist Clay

Egg Shells or Foil Confetti

Glitter

Glycerin or Mineral Oil

Optional: Plastic Lid to fit inside the jars lid,
Circle of Fabric, Ribbon or Lace

1. Choose a Clean Dry Glass Jar - A baby food jar is perfect for a small kids craft, pimento jars have a unique ball shape, and pickle jars are large enough to allow you to add several elements to your scene. Just fit your jar to your desired final effect. Remove any labels and food residue.

2. Plan your Snow Globe Scene - Search your sewing kit and home craft supplies for materials and inspiration. You can make people, animals, trees - you name it - from craft foam. Sewing findings are a great source of small decorations too. Also consider miniatures at the craft or hobby store. Remember to shop the day after a holiday for lots of discounted items!

3. Secure the Figures and Decorations inside the jar lid with silicone sealant or florist clay. In order to elevate the scene so it is in clear view, glue a plastic lid inside the jar lid or build up the area with a little extra florist clay. Be sure to leave the edges clear so you have room to screw on the lid. Set aside to dry.

4. Prepare Your "Snow" using the shell from a hardboiled egg. Separate the shell from the membrane, place in a sturdy ziploc bag, and crush with a rolling pin. Finer particles will fall more slowly in the snow globe and have a more pleasing effect. However, avoid crushing eggshell into a powder as it will simply float in the water instead of falling gently.

Depending upon your theme, you can change your "snow" to go along with it. Try themed confetti available at craft stores to add an interesting element to your creation. If youre doing a Halloween or Thanksgiving scene, look for foil leaf confetti in fall colors. For Easter you can use foil flower confetti. For a sports theme, use glitter in your favorite teams colors.

The possibilities are endless and ensure that you are creating a one-of-a-kind snow globe!

5. Fill the Snow Globe - When you are pleased with your snow globe scene, fill the jar with distilled water, leaving a little space at the top to accommodate the figures. Add several drops of glycerin to keep the snow suspended and floating properly. Mineral oil or baby oil can also be used in place of the water and glycerin.

6. Add Snow and Glitter - When adding eggshells, make sure you have enough to cover the lid once it has settled to the bottom. Use silver glitter along with the egg shells to make shimmery snow - use one teaspoon of glitter for every inch of water. If youre adventurous, experiment with different effects. Use a drop or two of colored lamp oil to create a swirling effect. Add food coloring to the water or use different colored glitters.

Close the jar tightly and shake your snow globe. Observe how the snow falls and the overall look. Tweak till you get the desired effect by adding a little more snow, glitter or confetti.

7. Seal the Dome - When youre sure the figures and scenery are arranged to your satisfaction, and the snow to water ratio looks good, add a bead of silicone sealant around the threads of the lid and close tightly.

8. Add Final Touches - For a more decorative and finished look, cut a circle of pretty fabric a little larger than the jar lid. Secure to the lid with an elastic band. Hot glue a piece of ribbon or lace over the elastic band.

You'll be proud to display and enjoy your original
winter crafts snow globe creation.

Adult Colonial Woman Halloween Costume

Swords, especially the combat and display varieties, don't really have much utility in modern times unlike your typical knife. That is why most people buy swords just to grow their collection.

Collecting swords is an enjoyable hobby but it could also be very expensive. This is especially true if you are collecting rare and antique swords. If you don't want to spend thousands of dollars in collecting antique swords, then you can simply collect replica swords or customized modern display or combat swords.

There are many types of swords. It would be too difficult to list them and accurately categorize each type of sword. For starters, you can start your collection by purchasing replica or display swords.

What You Should Know About Replica Swords

Replica swords can also be categorized as custom swords. That's because these items are made by copying the original sword design but blacksmiths typically include their own customized design.

The most common customized replica sword is the Japanese katana. The original combat katana is a dangerous weapon. It has razor sharp edge and known to cut a man in half with just a single stroke. However, display katana have blunt edges. Although there are items that are really sharp so you better be careful in handling this type of sword.

Other collectors tend to choose swords they saw in movies. For example the long bladed katana which was seen in the movie Kill Bill is a very popular item among sword collectors. You can order this type of sword from the Internet.

Most replica swords are very durable. These swords are made using the same principles in making the original. There are other display replica swords however that are not combat ready. This means the blade will be brittle and could break if excessive blunt force pressure is applied. But for most combat ready replica sword, you can use it to spar with another swordsman without inflicting damage on the blade.

Collecting Practice Swords to Learn Swordsmanship

You can also collect practice swords and use them to refine your skills in sword fighting. Usually, practice swords have blunt edges in order to protect the novice swordsman from serious injury.

Practice swords are more affordable than specialized customized display swords. So you can collect as many as you like and also learn how to handle them.

One of the best types of practice sword you can use is the Japanese wooden sword. Actually this wooden sword can also be used for combat and tournament play. The best thing is you will not get cut by using this sword. But you need to remember that the ancient Japanese used wooden swords for combat also. This means they can still injure you if not properly handled.

Collecting swords is fun and an enjoyable hobby. You may have to prepare yourself for some expenses but the majesty of your sword collection would be very rewarding and worth the expenses.

You can also make this hobby a profitable business. You could sell your swords or auction them if you want.
