When one thinks of the state of Illinois one of the first cities they will most likely think of is Chicago. However, when someone thinks of the state of Illinois, the odds are pretty good that they aren't going to first visualize many villages within the state. The village of Monee, Illinois is one of those villages. As of the year 2000 census there were only approximately 3,000 residents in the village. The park also has a football field which will eventually be able to convert to a soccer field as well. Located throughout all parts of the village are tot lots where the younger children can have a place to play.
Although Monee may not be the biggest city in Illinois, it sure is a place that provides a great sense of community.
